Interclean 2024 Presents “Dragon’s Den” Style Event with 8 startups to Revolutionize the Cleaning Industry

Amsterdam, Netherlands – May 10, 2024

Interclean 2024, in collaboration with Facility Data Standard (FDS), is proud to announce a groundbreaking addition to its lineup of events: a dynamic “Dragon’s Den” style pitching event set to take place on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, at the prestigious RAI in Amsterdam. This event aims to revolutionize the cleaning industry by bridging the digital skills gap, attracting new talent, and making the sector more enticing for investors and software companies alike. As many as 8 startups made it to the finals and will present themselves on Wednesday at 2.00 P.M. at the data and technology stage in hall 5 in the RAI.

In an era marked by rapid digitalization, the cleaning industry faces a critical challenge: the digital skills gap. As the European Commission forecasts a significant shortage of ICT-related jobs in the coming years, it is imperative for the cleaning sector to adapt and innovate. In addition, there is the need for a more sustainable world, and in a giant industry like cleaning and facility management, it is important to lead by example. By embracing technology and attracting new startups and talent, the industry can position itself for sustained growth and success.

“The Facility Data Standard Consortium is dedicated to advancing global open standards for secure data transfer and integration in the facility ecosystem,” said Dirk Tuip, organizer of the event and for more than 10 years active in the industry as CEO of software company FacilityApps and board member of Facility Data Standard (FDS). “As FDS we are proud to support the goals of the ‘Dragon’s Den’ event, which align with our mission of providing open data normalization and exchange standards for the facility industry. By fostering innovation and collaboration, we can drive positive change and propel the cleaning industry into the future.”

8 startups wil pitch

The event offers 8 selected startups the opportunity to pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of esteemed investors, with the chance to secure funding and support for their ventures. The selected startups are: Heimdal: sensor solution for window cleaning, NanoEnzo: preventive durable protection coating, Cliezen: continuous client feedback, Bamboi sustainable toilet paper, Compax sustainable waste management, Unwaste soaps that care, Cleaning Workx innovative cleaning training and Soobr smart cleaning.

By showcasing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions, these startups will not only address industry challenges but also make the cleaning sector more attractive to investors and software companies.

“We believe that by fostering innovation, attracting new talent, and making the industry more appealing to investors and software companies, we can drive meaningful change and propel the cleaning industry into the future,” said Robert Stelling, Director of Interclean. “Interclean 2024 is poised to be a transformative event for the sector, and we invite all stakeholders to join us in shaping the future of cleaning.”

“We are thrilled to host the ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event at Interclean 2024,” said Robert Stelling, Director of Interclean. “This innovative addition to our lineup underscores our commitment to driving positive change and fostering innovation within the cleaning industry. By providing a platform for startups to showcase their ideas and attracting investment, we are paving the way for a brighter, more technologically advanced future for the sector.”
