FacilityApps Acquires M.I.D. Software Engineering and Strengthens Its Position in the Belgian Cleaning Market
Buttons For Cleaners, together with its parent company FacilityApps, the market leader in software for cleaning companies in Belgium, proudly announces the acquisition of M.I.D. Software Engineering, a leading developer of software solutions for the service sector. This strategic acquisition strengthens the position of Buttons For Cleaners and offers numerous short- and long-term benefits to clients of both companies.
Eric Kok, Co-Director of Buttons For Cleaners, says: “With the acquisition of M.I.D. Software Engineering, we are not only adding a reputable company to our group, but we’re also enhancing our product development capacity. Our combined team will ensure greater continuity, faster development of new features, and expanded support for current customers.”
Ignace Claerhout, current owner and CEO of M.I.D., will remain actively involved with the company for the next five years and is joining the management team at Buttons For Cleaners. He will focus on improving the product and will play a leading role in the development of the combined product offering. “I’m excited to take this new step. By joining forces, we can serve our customers even better and continue to innovate. At the same time, I will remain the familiar point of contact for our clients,” says Claerhout.
Seamless Integration with Checkinandout (CIaO) and New Legislation
With the recent Checkinandout (CIaO) legislation that took effect on 1 September 2024 — and must be fully complied with by 1 January 2025 — companies are now required to accurately track attendance at job sites. Thanks to the merger of Buttons For Cleaners and M.I.D. Software Engineering, customers of both companies are prepared for this new regulation. The seamless integration of Checkinandout with the government ensures companies can meet all legal requirements without heavy administrative burdens. The government link is now fully automated, enabling effortless and compliant registration.
Innovative App for Window Cleaners
The planning software from M.I.D. will continue to serve as the foundation for scheduling window cleaning tasks. Over the coming months, the M.I.D. app will be merged with the app platform of FacilityApps, which merged with Buttons For Cleaners in 2022. This app platform offers more advanced features for both iPhone and Android users. These technologies will also become available to M.I.D. customers.
Future Outlook for Clients in the Cleaning and Window Cleaning Industries
Buttons For Cleaners and M.I.D. Software Engineering share extensive knowledge of the facility services sector and are market leaders in specialist solutions for cleaning and window cleaning businesses. For clients offering both services, the combined product offering will soon provide even better support.
“Our shared expertise and solutions enable us to optimally support companies in this sector. We are confident this acquisition will result in better service and more opportunities for our customers,” Claerhout concludes.
