FacilityApps & JLD Contracting at high tech water construction day 2018

FacilityApps & JLD Contracting at high tech water construction day 2018
FacilityApps was present at the water construction day 2018. During this day, technological developments in the sector were central. Using concrete projects, attention was given to new developments such as ICT and Big Data, innovations in measuring and monitoring, 3D and 4D information, and smart execution and dyke improvement techniques. We also look at how these developments contribute to the sustainability of the water construction sector. That is why the theme "High Tech Waterbouw" was chosen this year.

Theme presentation Jos Karsten and Dirk Tuip
Jos Karsten of JLD Contracting gave a presentation on Smart Dykes together with Dirk Tuip of FacilityApps. FacilityApps is active in cleaning and grounds management, but also with landscaping contractors. JLD Contracting has chosen the FacilityApps app platform to extract data from the JLD Dijkstabilisator, so that people in the field can work with the data.

Presentation 'From loose sensor in the dyke to life-cycle analysis'
Jos gave an introduction about the JLD Dijkstabilisator innovation. Dirk talked about what else can be done with the generated data. With this data it is possible to measure the pressure in the system, water pressure, vibrations and the temperature in the dyke, and thus continue to follow the expected positive interaction between the JLD-Dijkstabilisator and the flood defence. From these installed dyke stabilisers, data will be generated over a period of at least 5 years that will be assigned to the digital file.

About the water construction sector
The work in the water construction sector is diverse. Water construction companies are involved in, among other things, land reclamation, dredging, flood protection, structural water construction, port development and area development.
