AMSTERDAM — Cleaning Workx, the virtual learning platform powered by FacilityApps that trains cleaners worldwide and prepares them for practice and exams, this month introduces new Periodic Cleaning modules. The new modules — Periodic Interior and Periodic Sanitary — are available immediately in 18 languages for all users of the core platform. The launch is a direct response to the most requested feature among existing customers.

With this step, Cleaning Workx and FacilityApps strengthen their shared mission: professionalising, supporting and digitally enabling cleaning staff on the job.

Our customers have been asking for this for some time: a module that goes beyond daily cleaning and also trains staff on the periodic tasks that are just as decisive for quality. With the Periodic Cleaning modules, we deliver exactly that — practice-oriented, exam-ready and immediately usable on the job.

Periodic Interior: control over less-than-weekly tasks

The Periodic Interior module teaches cleaning staff how to carry out periodic interior cleaning systematically and safely. It covers doors, door frames, cabinets, office chairs, windowsills and radiators. Participants learn to recognise dirt, follow the correct work sequence and use the blue microfibre cloth and the flat mop correctly. Extra attention is given to moving safely, relocating and putting furniture back responsibly, and tidying used materials afterwards.

The module prepares participants for both day-to-day practice and the related exam assignments.

Periodic Sanitary: working safely and thoroughly in washrooms

The Periodic Sanitary module focuses on the periodic cleaning of washrooms. Participants learn to descale and inspect toilets, clean toilet doors and walls, and tackle the lower parts of walls — areas that often receive too little attention in daily cleaning. The module places particular emphasis on working safely with gloves and safety glasses, the correct use of a mirror, detail brush, blue microfibre cloth and flat mop, and carefully checking the result before packing up.

As of today, both modules are included in the Cleaning Workx core platform. Existing customers can activate the modules for their staff immediately — with no additional cost or configuration. The modules follow the platform's proven approach: short instruction videos, clear step-by-step guidance and integrated exam preparation.
