The meaning of gamification
Gamification is the application of game thinking and techniques in non-game environments. In business environments such as cleaning or landscaping, it is also called business gaming. In gamification, you use game elements to motivate users and enrich their experience. The key to gamification is that you want to stimulate behavior. You do this by capitalizing on intrinsic motivation. This is the motivation that comes from within a person. The underlying reasons people have for doing certain things. For example, learning, status or recognition. FacilityApps has launched a new loyalty module that uses gamification to nudge their users to do the right thing.

How does the Loyalty module work in the app?
Within the loyalty module, a cleaning company can create a loyalty system. In this system, cleaners can then automatically collect points based on the quality of work they perform. These points are then assigned to the cleaner’s profile. A company can also add its own “rules” or metrics for collecting points. The cleaner can achieve certain levels or levels. These levels with points can again be divided into groups. Names of these levels can be invented by the user, with corresponding badges and/or rewards.
Some examples of assigning points to things done:
- For example, each task completed on time is 1 point;
- A complaint handled within the agreed time is 3 points;
- A compliment received from a customer is 5 points;
- If the quality of a DKS (technical quality measurement) or quality perception is higher than a 7 (for example), then all cleaners on that object receive 5 points;
- Check-in/attendance – checking in and out on time for work is 1 point;
